Details:
These unique pillows are hand-crafted from chenille in classic ikat patterns.
Story Behind the Art:
They were created by local villagers in the Judhpur area, located in the Rajasthan province of India. The design is on the front side only in shades of beige and brown, with the reverse being a solid fabric with a zipper. Each pillow measures 20 inches x 20 inches. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving and furniture production as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the artisans to use in their designs.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
